TL;DR

  • Prices: lip $15+, eyebrows $20+, chin $25+, sideburns $25+, full face $65+.
  • Facial skin is thinner and more reactive than legs or arms, so medication and skincare history matter more.
  • The American Academy of Dermatology says waxing is not recommended if you take isotretinoin or have in the past six months, are using an antibiotic, or apply tretinoin to your skin.
  • Nevada bans double-dipping: each wooden stick goes into the wax once and is discarded.
  • Aftercare: no makeup, acids, retinoids or sun on the waxed area for the rest of the day.

`facial waxing near me`, `lip wax las vegas` and `full face wax` are quick-booking searches, and most people want two things: the price, and confidence that their skin will not react. This guide covers both, area by area.

What Is Facial Waxing?

Facial waxing is the removal of unwanted facial hair, usually from the upper lip, chin, brows, sideburns or cheeks, by applying warm wax and lifting it away so hairs come out from the root. Results last longer than shaving or tweezing, and because the face is delicate, a careful technician and a quick skin-history check matter more than for body waxing.

Full face or single areas? Most people book one or two areas. A full face wax covers several areas in one service and suits people who prefer a completely smooth base for makeup.

1. Facial Waxing Prices by Area

AreaPriceNotes
Lip$15+Upper lip
Eyebrows$20+Clean-up following your natural shape
Chin$25+Chin and just under the jawline
Side burns$25+Hair in front of the ears
Full face$65+Several areas in one service

The "+" means a starting price. Denser hair or a larger area can take longer. Ask for the total first.

Combinations:

  • Lip and chin: $15 + $25 = $40+
  • Lip, brows and chin: $15 + $20 + $25 = $60+
  • Lip, brows, chin and sideburns: $15 + $20 + $25 + $25 = $85+; at that point the $65+ full face usually costs less

Our eyebrow wax guide covers brow shaping in detail. For every waxing area, including body, see the waxing guide and our pricing page.

2. Waxing vs Other Facial Hair Removal

The American Academy of Dermatology's guide to removing unwanted hair compares the main methods. A summary for the face:

MethodProsCons
WaxingRemoves hair from the root; longer-lasting than shavingCan be painful; skin may be red briefly; not for some medications
TweezingPrecise for a few hairsSlow for larger areas
ShavingQuick and painlessRegrowth is fast
Depilatory creamPainlessNeeds a patch test; can irritate facial skin

The AAD's realistic notes on waxing: "Removing the wax can be painful," newly waxed skin "can be red and irritated for a short while," and "If the wax is too hot, it can burn your skin." That is why wax temperature should be checked before it touches your face, and why facial waxing is done in small sections.

3. Who Should Not Wax Their Face

The AAD says waxing is not recommended if you are currently:

  • Taking isotretinoin, or have taken it within the past six months
  • Using an antibiotic
  • Applying tretinoin (retinoic acid) to your skin

Also tell us before facial waxing if you:

  • Use other retinoids, retinol or exfoliating acids on your face
  • Have had a peel, microdermabrasion or laser treatment recently. Our microdermabrasion facial guide explains why the two should not be booked together
  • Have sunburn, active breakouts, cold sores, a rash or broken skin on the area

When to see a doctor instead. The AAD advises that if you "suddenly have a lot more unwanted hair," a board-certified dermatologist can explain what is happening. New or rapidly increasing facial hair can have medical causes worth checking before you treat it cosmetically.

4. Hygiene Rules You Can Check

Nevada's wax rules are specific. Under NAC 644A.740, published by the Nevada State Board of Cosmetology:

  • "Wax pots must be kept covered and the exterior cleaned daily."
  • "Disposable spatulas and wooden sticks may be dipped into the wax only once and then must be discarded without using the other end."
  • Contaminated wax must be thrown out and the pot disinfected if debris, skin contact, unclean applicators or double-dipping occur.
  • "Any surface touched by a used wax stick must be disinfected immediately after the service."

Why it matters on the face. The AAD notes that heated wax is not hot enough to kill bacteria and other germs. Around the mouth and nose, that is a good reason to watch for a fresh stick every time. Our clean salon checklist lists other signs of good hygiene.

5. Aftercare for Facial Skin

Before your appointment: let hair grow out since your last shave or tweeze so the wax has something to grip, arrive without heavy makeup on the area if you can, and skip retinoids and exfoliating acids for a few days beforehand unless your doctor advises otherwise. If you have a big event, wax a few days ahead rather than the same morning, so any redness has time to settle.

For the rest of the day:

  • No makeup on the waxed area
  • No retinoids, acids or scrubs
  • No direct sun, saunas or very hot showers on the face
  • Do not touch or pick at small bumps

Over the next few days:

  • Moisturise gently with a fragrance-free product
  • Use sunscreen outdoors; freshly waxed skin is more sensitive to Las Vegas sun
  • Avoid tweezing between appointments so regrowth stays even

Pairing with other services. Book waxing and a facial on separate days, or tell us so we plan the order. Our hydrating facial guide explains why sensitised skin needs care. If you are also getting a lash tint, mention both at booking. Regrowth timing varies by person and area; our how long does waxing last guide gives typical rebooking intervals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is facial waxing in Las Vegas?

At Marvelous Nails & Lashes, lip waxing is $15+, eyebrows $20+, chin $25+, sideburns $25+ and a full face wax $65+.

Is a full face wax worth it?

If you would otherwise book four areas, yes. Lip, brows, chin and sideburns add up to $85+, while a full face wax starts at $65.

Does facial waxing cause breakouts?

Some people get small bumps for a day or two. Avoid makeup and heavy products on the area for the rest of the day, and tell us if you are prone to breakouts.

Can I wax my face if I use retinol?

Tell us first. The American Academy of Dermatology says waxing is not recommended if you apply tretinoin or take isotretinoin now or within the past six months. Other retinoids can also make skin more fragile.

Is waxing or threading better for the face?

Both remove hair from the root. Waxing is quicker for larger areas such as the lip, chin and sideburns. We offer waxing.

Does lip waxing hurt?

There is a brief sting. The AAD notes that wax removal can be painful and skin may be red briefly afterwards.

Should I see a doctor about facial hair?

If you suddenly have much more facial hair than before, the AAD recommends seeing a board-certified dermatologist to understand the cause.

Can I get a facial and facial waxing on the same day?

It is better to book them on different days. If you need both together, tell us so we plan the order and choose gentle products.

Book Facial Waxing

Tell us about any skincare products or medications when you book, and we will check that waxing is right for you that day.
