`How much is a manicure`, `gel manicure` and `manicure near me` are the questions that decide where people book, and most salon sites answer them with "prices vary." Ours do not. Here is the full menu with the reasoning behind each number.

How Much Is a Manicure?

A manicure in Las Vegas typically costs between $30 and $70 for work on the natural nail, and between $65 and $100 or more for a set with enhancements. At Marvelous Nails & Lashes the published prices are $38 for a classic manicure, $58 for a gel manicure and $65 for the Marvelous manicure. Enhancement full sets start at $80 for Gel-X, hard gel or poly gel, with dip powder at $68 on the natural nail or $78 with tips. Nail art, repairs and removal of an existing set are quoted separately.

The number that matters is the total, not the headline. A $58 gel manicure with removal and an accent nail is not $58, and every salon works this way.

Two gaps in that table are deliberate, and we would rather explain them than pad the menu with fictional numbers. We publish an acrylic fill price but not a full-set price, and a hard gel full-set price but not a fill price, because both of those vary enormously with length, shape and the state of the existing set. Ring ahead and we will give you a range.

The soft gel manicure at $58 and up includes soak-off and removal, which is worth noting because that is often a separate charge elsewhere.

And on dip powder specifically: we do not double dip. All powder is used one time only.

2. What Drives the Price Difference

Durability, mostly. The gap between the $38 classic and the $58 gel is almost entirely how long the colour survives. Regular polish gives you three to five days. Gel gives you two to three weeks.

Time in the chair. A classic manicure is 30 to 45 minutes; the Marvelous manicure is 60 to 75. You are paying for the technician's time as much as the product.

Product cost and equipment. Gel needs a lamp and curing time. Enhancement systems need tips, forms, builder product and considerably more skill to apply well.

Removal, when it applies. Taking off an existing set is 20 to 40 minutes of work before yours begins.

What does not drive the price: the colour you choose. Any shade on the shelf costs the same.

3. Add-Ons and What They Cost

Nail art is the one that varies most, and it is why we quote it at the appointment rather than publishing a number. One accent nail is roughly ten minutes of work. Ten hand-painted nails with detail can be over an hour. Those are not the same job and cannot share a price. Our nail art guide shows what different styles involve.

The single question that prevents every billing surprise: "What is the total, including everything?" Ask it before the work starts. Any salon worth booking will answer it directly.

4. Cost Per Week, Not Cost Per Visit

The headline price is the wrong comparison. Divide by how long it lasts.

Dip powder is the cheapest per week on this menu. That is not a marketing line, it is arithmetic — $68 over three and a half weeks. Our dip powder guide covers whether it suits you.

The classic manicure looks expensive on this measure and still has its place. If you want a specific colour for one weekend, or you are between enhancement sets and giving your nails a break, $38 for four days is the right purchase. Cost per week is only the right metric when you are wearing something continuously.

5. When a Cheap Manicure Costs More

A very low price has to come from somewhere. Usually it is time, and time is the thing that makes a manicure last.

What gets cut first:

• Preparation. A rushed cuticle line is the most visible difference between a $25 manicure and a $58 one, and it is also where lifting starts.
• Cure time. Under-cured gel peels within days.
• Removal. Filing an old set off quickly thins the natural nail. The American Academy of Dermatology notes that enhancements already require that "the surface of your natural nails must be filed until they feel rough. This thins your natural nails, making them weaker." A hurried removal compounds that.

What should never be cut, at any price: disinfection. Nevada requires that all instruments and non-porous tools be cleaned and disinfected before each use under NAC 644A.740, that single-use items including buffers, emery boards and nail files are discarded after one client, and that every licensee wash their hands with liquid soap before and after serving each client under NAC 644A.765. Nevada also requires a salon to display the license or a duplicate of the license in plain view of members of the general public under NRS 644A.615(1).
