Every nail add-on on our Las Vegas menu with its price: French $15+, chrome $25+, cat eye $25+, nail design $5+, removal $10+ and more, plus what each one changes.
Most surprise bills at a nail salon come from add-ons rather than the base service. This page lists every add-on on our current menu, what it changes, and how to estimate your total so the number at the desk matches the number in your head. People search for this as `nail add ons price`, `how much is chrome on nails` and `french tip add on price`; all three are answered below.

A nail add-on is an extra step priced on top of a base manicure, pedicure or enhancement. It changes the finish (French, chrome, cat eye, ombre), the shape, or the preparation (cuticle trim, buffing, removal of old product). At Marvelous Nails & Lashes in Las Vegas, add-ons start at $5 for nail design and run to $30+ for removal without a follow-on service.
The base service sets the product; the add-on sets the look. A gel manicure decides that your colour is gel and lasts two to three weeks. A chrome add-on decides that the colour has a mirror finish. You need both lines on the bill to get chrome gel nails.
These are the à la carte prices published on our pricing page as of October 2026.
| Add-on | Price | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Classic French | $15+ | White or coloured tip on a natural-looking base |
| Deep French | $25+ | Deeper tip line, often for longer or almond shapes |
| Chrome | $25+ | Mirror or pearl powder buffed over gel |
| Cat Eye | $25+ | Magnetic gel that forms a moving band of light |
| Ombre | $25 | Soft fade from one colour to another |
| Nail Design | $5+ | Hand-painted or detailed art, priced by work involved |
| Shape (anything other than square) | +$10 | Oval, almond, coffin, stiletto and similar |
| Cuticle Trim | $10+ | Tidying of loose dead skin around the nail |
| Buff Shine | $10+ | High-shine buff on natural nails, no polish |
| Regular Polish Change | $25+ | New regular polish, no full manicure |
| Take Off Dip or Gel-X | $10+ | Removal of dip powder or Gel-X tips |
| Take Off with Service | $15+ | Removal of old product before a new set |
| Take Off without Service | $30+ | Removal only, nothing applied afterwards |
| 1 Toe Repair with Service | $10+ | Rebuilding one damaged toenail during a pedicure |
The menu also lists services that include removal in the price. The gel manicure ($55), soft gel pedicure ($65) and gel polish change for hands or toes ($45+) all state "Includes soak-off/removal". If you are already wearing gel and booking one of those, you do not pay a separate take-off line.
These four are the most common reason a $55 gel manicure becomes an $80 visit.
| Finish | Add-on price | Gel manicure total (from) | Gel-X full set total (from) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic French | $15+ | $70 | $94 |
| Deep French | $25+ | $80 | $104 |
| Chrome | $25+ | $80 | $104 |
| Cat Eye | $25+ | $80 | $104 |
| Ombre | $25 | $80 | $104 |
Classic French versus Deep French is a question of how much of the nail the tip covers. A classic tip is a slim line at the free edge; a deep French runs further down the nail and needs more precise work, which is why it costs more. Our French manicure guide shows both.
Chrome and cat eye are both $25+ but behave differently. Chrome is a fine powder rubbed onto cured gel for a solid metallic or pearl finish. Cat eye is a magnetic polish, so the shimmer sits inside the colour and moves as your hand moves. Separate guides for each go live this week.
Ombre is a flat $25 and works on gel, dip and enhancements. A nude-to-white "baby boomer" fade is the classic; two colours of the same family is the subtler version.
Combining two finishes is possible (a chrome French, for example), but expect both lines to apply. Ask the technician to price the combination before you start rather than assuming one add-on covers both.
Removal is the add-on people most often misunderstand. There are three take-off lines and they are priced for different situations.
| Situation | Line on the bill | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Wearing dip or Gel-X and booking a new service | Take Off Dip or Gel-X | $10+ |
| Wearing any old product and booking a new set | Take Off with Service | $15+ |
| Removal only, nothing new | Take Off without Service | $30+ |
| Wearing gel and booking a gel manicure or gel polish change | Included | $0 |
Why removal alone costs more than removal with a service. A take-off without a follow-on service is a full appointment slot used for one step, and the technician still has to soak, lift, buff and condition the nail plate afterwards. With a service, much of that preparation overlaps with the new set.
Why removal should not be skipped. The American Academy of Dermatology says acetone is the most effective way to remove gel, and that picking, peeling or filing it off can significantly damage your nails. For dip powder, the AAD notes that removal involves soaking in acetone, which can damage your nails if done carelessly. Paying $10–$30 for a careful take-off is cheaper than months of thin, peeling nails. Our safe removal guide covers what a good removal looks like.
Shape (+$10). Square is the default. Anything else (oval, round, almond, coffin, stiletto) adds $10 because it takes longer to file symmetrically across ten nails. If you are unsure which shape to choose, our nail shapes guide compares strength and wear.
Cuticle Trim ($10+). This is a tidy-up of loose, dead skin, not removal of the living cuticle. The AAD is clear that cuticles protect the nail: "To prevent infection, never cut or forcefully push back your cuticles," it advises in its manicure and pedicure safety tips. A good trim removes only what is already detached.
Buff Shine ($10+). A high-gloss buff for natural nails when you do not want polish at all. It is popular for short, bare nails and for men's grooming visits.
Regular Polish Change ($25+). New regular (non-gel) polish without the full manicure. It is the quickest way to change colour, but regular polish wears for days rather than weeks.
1 Toe Repair with Service ($10+). Rebuilds a single broken or split toenail during a pedicure so the polish has a surface to sit on. For larger breaks, see our broken toenail repair guide.
Nail Design ($5+). Priced by the work involved. A single accent dot is at the low end; full hand-painted sets cost more. Bring a reference photo and ask for a quote.
A simple formula covers most visits:
Worked example. Gel-X removal and a new Gel-X full set in almond with chrome: $10 + $79 + $10 + $25 = $124 before any "+" adjustments. The same look on natural nails as a gel manicure: $55 + $10 + $25 = $90.
What the "+" means. It signals that the listed figure is the starting price. Length, very detailed art and nails that need extra repair can raise it. A fair salon prices this in advance; ask "What will the total be?" before the first file touches the nail, not at the desk.
Our Las Vegas nail prices guide puts these numbers alongside city-wide ranges, and the nail art guide covers design pricing in more depth.
Chrome is a $25+ add-on on our menu, on top of the base service. On a $55 gel manicure the total starts at $80; on a $79 Gel-X full set it starts at $104.
Classic French is $15+ and Deep French is $25+. The deep version covers more of the nail and takes longer to line up evenly, which is why it costs more.
Yes. The gel manicure ($55), soft gel pedicure ($65) and gel polish change ($45+) all include soak-off and removal of existing gel, so there is no separate take-off charge.
Take-off without a service is $30+ against $15+ with one. Removal alone still needs soaking, lifting and conditioning, and it uses a full appointment slot for a single step.
Square is included. Any other shape, such as oval, almond, coffin or stiletto, is +$10 because it takes longer to file evenly across ten nails.
It means the listed figure is the starting price. Length, detailed art or extra repair can raise it. Ask for the total before work begins.
A trim of loose, dead skin is. Cutting the living cuticle is not: the American Academy of Dermatology advises never to cut or forcefully push back cuticles because they protect against infection.
Yes, but expect both add-ons to apply. Ask the technician to price the combination before starting.
Ombre is a flat $25 add-on on our menu. It works on gel, dip and enhancements.
Tell us the look you want when you book or at the desk, and we will give you the total, add-ons included, before we start.
